Today’s Prompts — October 9, 2026

  • Object — something concrete to draw: Mooring rings set into stone
  • Abstract — a feeling or intangible moment: A book that reads itself
  • Character — a person defined by trait or contradiction: A mother reading upside down

This Week’s Prompt

“I shut my eyes in order to see.”

— Paul Gauguin

About What to Draw Today

Every day, What to Draw Today gives you three fresh drawing prompts: a concrete object, an abstract concept, and a character. Pick one, pick all three, or mash them together — the goal is simply to get your pencil moving. Each week there's also a literary quote to spark something a little different.

Everyone sees the same prompts. When you share your sketch, you're part of a crowd of artists all drawing from the same well that day — which makes comparing interpretations half the fun. New prompts arrive daily at midnight UTC, and a new quote lands every Monday. No accounts required, no ads, nothing in your way. Just show up and draw.
